Hydration Station combats water inaccessibility by providing water dispensing stations as well as empowering and educating young people to initiate green projects within their communities.

The Problem And The Solution

The city of Evansville has been in a monumental period of growth throughout the past ten years with the construction of brand new playgrounds and funding towards the betterment of life. However, there is so much stirring for positive growth, yet a continuous rising homeless population and so many without access to a basic necessity of life: water.

The homeless population in Evansville has grown 12.5% since 2017 and continues to grow. Furthermore, the poverty rate in Evansville is a whopping 21.81% of our population. That’s 25,864 people barely scraping by every day.

So many of us, living in the convenience of every necessity of life, turn a blind eye to those who live without the ease of drinking fresh water easily every day, but it is time for a change. It is time we take the step to live in an age where clean drinking water is a fundamental right to those who may need it. No one should have to wake up wondering where and how they are going to find good, clean drinking water.

Hydration Station aims to provide that basic right through the installation of various water filling dispensers in Evansville. Anyone can access the dispensers and have immediate access to high-quality drinking water for no cost. The installation of these stations will effectively revolutionize the health and wellness of others in our community. When looking at the statistics, this organization is so much more of a need than want in our city as well as so many other cities around the world.
